A complete introduction to red light technology and its uses and
benefits. The author has carefully researched each topic and provides
the necessary information to implement red light technology for oneself.
Each chapter highlights one benefit of red light technology. For
instance, there is a chapter on using red light for fat loss, one on
muscle building, and another on eyesight. The book also has an extensive list of red light manufacturers. I found the information compelling, and
I will be using red light therapy soon.

Overall, this is a good introduction and can save time from google researching. The list of vendors at the back is useful. Also, it’s cheap.

    But….

The author mistakes FDA Cleared with FDA Approved for laser hair restoration helmets. The basic difference is that cleared means that the product will cause no harm and approved means that it works for what it says it will do. No laser hair restoration based on infrared light has been FDA approved. Many sham medical products get the FDA cleared designation and then use that as a marketing ploy to make consumers think that it is approved. The author, who has read and quoted a number of scientific papers, should know better.

While the author summarizes numerous papers, he rarely communicates the mechanism by which the therapies were performed in those experiments. For instance, if the experiment needed a certain type of light, held a certain distance away, for a certain time, you’d have to read the actual paper to get that info. There’s no reason why that info wouldn’t be in this book aside from author laziness.

Lastly, the author quotes numerous scientific papers, but there’s no indication if he knows whether the papers were done under a proper methodology. There’s no reference to studies that found other results. Which is to say that the author has done little to prove that he’s qualified to analyze these studies. It’s good that he’s aggregated them here, but I’d be wary of trusting his opinion on them. Essentially, he’s far too credulous…. which is not to say some therapies don’t work, just that you won’t be able to determine which ones are backed by robust science and which ones are shams here.

This book is very informative and easy to understand. The author talks about the science behind red light therapy, how it works, and what it can be used on. He uses scientific studies to defend opinions.  He also talks about how to best use red light therapy and what to look for in a device. He mentions how a few unethical companies use fear-based advertising to sell their products. A comprehensive list of red light manufacturers and centers is included in the book. I would recommend this book to those interested in red light therapy.

I read the kindle version of this book. John has written a great book, and he summarized the science of red light therapy. He tested many red light
therapy devices and detailed how manufacturers overestimate the light power output of their devices. There are a variety of RLT devices available on Amazon. While the book does not make recommendations for specific red light therapy devices, the book has a chapter listing the major Red
Light Therapy manufacturers. If you’re considering red light therapy, you need this book!

  5. Albert F.

If you ever wondered if red light therapy is real or another health fad, then read this book! This book is informative and well researched. The science and numerous scientific studies detail the many health benefits of red light. Chapters are broken down to address the various uses and achieve these benefits (examples: skin rejuvenation, fat loss, brain function, muscle recovery, etc.). He also debunks several myths associated with the usage of RLT units. You can find the right red light therapy unit without breaking the bank using the information provided.

This book contains everything you need to know about Red Light Therapy. First, the author explains the science behind Red light therapy in easy-to-understand language. Then, he details what to look for and not look for when purchasing a device. Red light therapy’s many uses and benefits are well researched and documented throughout the book.

  7. cntrygrlnyc

This is a well-written and heavily researched book. The author provides
a clear picture of what the evidence says, tests multiple devices, and
shows how to calculate the correct dosage. He talks about the benefits
that can be achieved and the dangers of improper usage. His
recommendations are based on science, with studies cited throughout.

  8. MISTERJ

If you’re curious about Red Light Therapy, but bored by texts with too much reliance on technical jargon, i would offer this as the book for you Most of the clinical information on the subject is written for researchers and can quickly lose the casual reader, while this book is a well researched introduction that explains the subject along with some basic science and is much more accessible than a clinical research paper. Links to the research are provided for those seeking more technical knowledge, though not necessary for one to walk away with a clear understanding of how to get the most significant benefits quickly. All in all, a highly recommended entry on a fascinating and promising subject.
